Emerson was originally built in 1901. At the time it housed 180 students in a 4 room school house. The rooms were heated with a wood stove and there was one outhouse in the back for all to share. Thankfully times have changed. The current building was built in 1969. and has over 18 classrooms. The students, faculty and parents are very proud of the accomplishments of their students scholastically, as well as extracurricular activities.
